Roman Holiday

Le Jardin de Russie

If you’ve never visited Rome, then I implore you to go. In fact, drop everything and book now because it’s just getting warm enough to enjoy a gelato in the magnificent Piazza Navona.

Rome’s historic centre is one spectacular outdoor museum. Every twist and turn along its narrow streets reveal famous masterpiece after masterpiece – the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Forum, the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter’s Basilica – together with countless lesser known squares, statues and monuments.

Then there’s the shopping. Impossibly fashionable boutiques from Europe’s finest designer names – most of them Italian – line the Via Condotti, Via Borgognona and Via del Babuino.

If there’s one hotel that deserves a place in this stunning city it’s the Hotel de Russie. Just a few metres from the Piazza del Popolo, and a short walk from the Spanish Steps, this elegant hotel is the perfect mix of old-world charm and modern comforts.

A perennial favourite with royalty and artists – Picasso, Stravinsky and Cocteau adored this hotel – it serves as a refined sanctuary of calm among its hectic, showy neighbours.

Hotel de Russie’s crowning glory is its Secret Garden, a green oasis in the centre of the city. Take an espresso in the courtyard beneath the garden, or better still enjoy lunch among the flowers at Le Jardin de Russie.

The Hotel de Russie is part of the Rocco Forte Portfolio, and we are delighted to welcome the group as a client.
