The Challenge

The CLA’s membership magazine Land & Business was costing the organisation a small fortune when we won the opportunity to work alongside its communication team back in 2008. They wanted a more transparent relationship, together with a fairer share of the advertising revenue.

Our Solution

Disturbingly, the economic crisis struck just weeks after we were awarded the advertising sales and production contract. Nevertheless, by ensuring that advertisers realised the true value of the magazine – it had previously been chronically undersold – we quickly increased revenues to target levels. The July 2012 issue benefitted from the highest level of advertising revenue ever.

The Client

The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) is the membership organisation for owners of land, property and businesses in rural England and Wales.

They speak for everyone who believes in a living and working countryside.
Through the experience and expertise of members and staff, they promote their members’ interests and influence decision makers to ensure the positive development of the rural economy.
