The Challenge

With Fairmont St Andrews already regarded as one of Scotland’s premier events and conference venues, it would be easy for the hotel’s marketing team to rest on their laurels. Instead they are constantly driven to find innovative ways to attract new business, which is why they commissioned us to develop an exciting new promotional campaign.

Our Solution

St Andrews is the home of golf, and the game is a huge draw for both leisure and commercial guests. We created an integrated campaign, which included a personalised direct mail piece that faithfully reproduced a golf scorecard. Recipients were able enter a competition to win a weekend at Fairmont St Andrews by typing their unique scores and other particulars into a specially designed website that educated and tempted in equal measure. The captured data was used to profile prospective clients, and automatically pick the winner at random.
